In winter 2022/23, there was an increase in infections in England, including in the most severe form, which can potentially become life-threatening. In this video I mention if your child has symptoms of COVID-19 infection, to try and arrange a PCR test, but this is no longer the case in the UK. You may be able to purchase an antigen test from a pharmacy. I would suggest it is still sensible to consider this as a possible diagnosis if cases in your local area are high and take appropriate precautions.
